GARDEN CITY, NY, December 17, 2007 - The Accountants Club of America (ACA) recently honored Robert L. Israeloff, CPA of Manhasset with a Lifetime Professional Achievement Award at its 80th Anniversary Reception held at Club 101 in New York City. Israeloff is the founder of Garden City based Israeloff, Trattner & Co. CPAs, PC, and the visionary behind the firm's growth into one of the region's leading certified public accounting, financial and management consulting firms.

The Accountants Club of America was founded in 1927 to provide a forum for the leaders of the accounting profession to meet on a social rather than professional level and to forge relationships for the advancement of professional ideals. Originally open only to certified or chartered public accountants, membership was later extended to corporate accountants and those with continuing interest in areas related to accounting, including attorneys, bankers, credit grantors, academics and related professionals. Membership is by invitation and must be proposed by two members of the Club and approved by the ACA Board of Governors.

Selected by Accounting Today as one of the 100 most influential CPAs in the United States on a number of occasions, Robert L. Israeloff has served as Chairman of the Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the national organization representing the CPA profession. He was awarded the AICPA Gold Medal for Distinguished Service and is currently in his 24th year on the AICPA Council. Mr. Israeloff is a frequent speaker on the management of an accounting practice, and has spoken at the AICPA Business Succession Planning Conference.

Since 1964 Mr. Israeloff has been a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), which currently represents over 30,000 CPAs. A former president of the organization, he has held a number of other board-level positions, and has served as Chair or a member of over 25 Society committees and special task forces such as Managing Partners, Annual Leadership, Professional Achievement Registry Review, Budget Policy and Administration. Mr. Israeloff has also been President of the Society's Foundation for Accounting Education.

After graduating from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Mr. Israeloff received a Masters in Business Administration in Tax from Baruch College.

Mr. Israeloff's community activities have been meaningful and varied. He has held a number of community service positions including President of HIAS Inc. (the International Jewish Rescue and Migration Agency,) Board Member of ORT, NYUJA Federation, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Vice President and Treasurer of Inwood Country Club, Treasurer of the Village of Hewlett Bay Park, Campaign Chair of the Five Towns United Fund, Treasurer of the Sarasota County Arts Council, and Treasurer of Peninsula Counseling Center. Bob Israeloff's community and philanthropic awards have come from the American Jewish Committee, American Heart Association, Wharton Club of Long Island, and Israel Bonds, among others.
