GARDEN CITY, NY, January 19, 2009 -- Arthur Sanders, CPA, an officer at Israeloff, Trattner & Co., CPAs, was recently honored by the School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. at its inaugural Sixty over Sixty Gala. The Event honored sixty individuals over the age of sixty who have made positive, tangible contributions to making Long Island the great community it is today. Proceeds from the event went to SBPLI's FIRST Robotics and Lego League competition programs.

An accountant by profession, for over 40 years Arthur Sanders has given selflessly of his time, money and expertise to countless charities, boards and professional organizations. Multiplied over time, this has resulted in millions of dollars saved and put back into the Long Island economy. Living by the credo "When you give out bread, it comes back cake," Arthur is a longtime board member and Treasurer of the Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA), Founding Board member of Pet Peeves, Founding Board Member of From Our Hearts, Board Member of the LI School for the Gifted, and a member or former board member of countless other community organizations on Long Island. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), the Institute of Business Appraisers, the NYSSCPA-Nassau Chapter, and Board Member and Treasurer of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

Sanders was the recipient of the National Multiple Sclerosis Leadership Award, the Silver Stork Award from the March of Dimes, the Good Deed Award from the Boy Scouts of America, and the Torchbearer Award from the American Kidney Fund. He received the Arthur J. Dixon Public Service Award from the New York State Society of CPAS, which recognizes CPAs who have distinguished themselves in community, charitable, or civic activities on an ongoing basis.

The father of two and grandfather of 3, Arthur Sanders resides in Woodbury, New York, with his wife Jan.
